I was ready. I had bought the plug kit, a bottle of slime, slime compressor, & had the co2 cartridges. The hole was to big for a plug so I put the bottle of slime in the tire. Used my compressor to air up tire, then moved the bike forward & back to distribute the slime. Only got 2 miles down the road, hole was to big & the slime just squirted out on my saddle bags & exhaust. It was even on my trunk. Called HOG & they arranged a pickup for the bike & even called back twice to make sure the truck arrived. I feel good I was prepared for this even though it didn't work. Plus it didn't happen at SWll.

Welcome to the "2012 Gone Flat Club" just had my first flat a month ago after 48 years of riding. I'm now good until 2060 so if I stop riding when I'm 110 years old I should never have another flat !!!!

Mine was the rear tire with wife riding shotgun. Noticed a slight rear wobble and I immediately started looking for a crossroad to get off highway and reduced speed. Used front brake to reduce speed with just a little rear to bring to complete stop. All in all bike remained well under control. Rear tire was pretty much dead flat by the time I stopped.
Inspection of tire after removal showed a large bolt just off center. Mechanic stated he doubts I could have plugged and nursed home doing two up. I still had about 15 miles of highway to traverse two up which would have been iffy on a plugged tire with the size of hole I saw. Thank you AAA

I guess the Hog service is "OK" but the tow drivers know the score, in 6 years I needed them twice, the first time I used them but the tow charge was high, the 2nd time was this last Mar. the tow charge was SO HIGH like $ 300.00 for 40 miles, that I just waited the 3 hours for my son in law to come get me. Bottom line..... most now charge $ 100.00 over normal cost of tow, so I don't think I'll join year time around.

I get the unlimited coverage through HOG for $19.95. No worries about how much the driver charges. There may be cheaper services, but this works for me.

Flat

Had the back blow out on me doin 70+ mph scared the crap out of me but kept it up. Had the front go down once at about 60 front shook like crazy but I didn't wreck. Both times I was by myself could have been bad if I were in a group. Oh and by the way didn't have cell phones back then so walking it was!!!

had the back go flat on me doin 75 on the interstate. Felt like the bikes back end was weaving, so i gradually slowed down and pulled to the shoulder.
It was my first big road trip, and I only made it about 70 miles before it happened. Called Harley Roadside Assist, but should have just called the dealer. I was on the side of the road for 3 hours in 105 heat waiting for some jack ass with a hand made trailer to show up,(contracted thru Roadside Asst).
