my wife was wanting to do something a little different to her roadglide. she's a jewelry hobbyist and really appreciates the work that an artist puts into their work. so i wanted to get her a fuel lid that would reflect that. this is what i ended up with:
it is in the raw finish, so as it ages, it will develop that old patina look. having it chrome plated would keep it looking shiny, but the chrome plating would also diminish some of the fine engraving lines.
yeah, i've seen a few like that, but i want to keep it simple and tasteful myself. i got her a dipdot for the oil dipstick (have to trade her 12 with my 10 so she can use it) but i would like to get a dash insert for her later as well. i think that might be about the extent of it.
Wow you did that yourself? Ive always wanted to learn how to metal engrave, but looks like it would take more practice then Id be willing to put into it.
