For the antenna, I just cut my stock one down with a grinder so it would fit under the tour pak, works good for me, I use my phone for music 99% of the time anyway

It ain't about age ... The damn things are just handy as hell.

I can get two (20 pack) cases if 16oz aluminum bottles in my Tour-Pak, and still have plenty of room.

Ya, but if you had the king TP, you could throw a hunk of dry ice in the middle of it and then fill the rest of it with about 4 half gallons of that good ol' Friendly's ice cream. You'd be the most popular guy at the next "Meet and Greet"!

PS: Don't forget the plastic spoons and napkins ......

Short story long...........It's a knock off from Fairing Factory that needed to be finished and powdercoated. When I mean by finished is it required a little filing down and sanding the rough edges. The original style of this rack and quality being bar none is from Metalsports. I don't think they are making them anymore but every once in awhile you'll find one on ebay. I couldn't find one but came across these guys so I bought it and gave it a shot. They come in raw aluminum finish.

If I find a rack from Metalsports I will be purchasing it. In the meantime this one works pretty decently.

It's all about the convenience of the TP. Once you have ANY TP and use it for a while, it's hard to go back to no TP. The single biggest needless expense I had when putting together my bike was the quick disconnect for the TP. I figured I'd only use the TP when on a longer trip but I soon got used to the convenience it offers. I've had the TP off just twice for cleaning. Rain gear and such still goes into the bottom of the bags but all the little things I use most often are in the chopped TP.

it's a "blank canvas" kinda thing for me. just can't see spending that much more for an ultra.
guess i can't forget my raisin's.

i find it more convenient to load up the bike with luggage i can take in to a hotel/motel and ride without it once i reach the destination.

if the wife wants to go along i'll hitch up the enclosed trailer and ride anyway.
she packs way too much for any bike trip and i'd rather take her along for some sugar once in awhile.

I have the H-D shorty on mine, there is a flag on it, but as you can see it is still a tad bit too long with the TP on, but it works for the little I run with it on.

They make luggage designed to fit in the Tour Pak.
