First mod I made to my bike after I bought it was to put a Bright Ass Light tail light on it. A lot of people bitch about it but they all slow down way back before they get close to me. God's speed on a fast full recovery!
What king of bright ass taillight did you put in yours? I thought about the brake lights that flash but I’d need to switch everything over to LED and then do the flashing deal. Didn’t really want to spend hundreds of dollars on it though.

the magic strobe from custom dynamics is (or at least was) compatible with both incandescent and led lights. with the led lights, you get all the patterns. with the incandescent, you get 3 or 4. on my old bike, i used the 'flash 4 times, solid, flash 4 times, solid' pattern. with my cvo, the taillights were led, so i was able to use the psycho, 'flash like crazy, then go solid' pattern.

like it did me a lot of good.....

but, i will be adding that to our new bikes. may not be seen by everyone, but it can only help. and if it is seen by the one that doesn't hit you, then it's money well spent.

dammit... there goes my witness protection, lol....

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

I have the custom dynamics too. My buddy was behind me during the day and said that it almost borders on annoying drivers. Hey, that's fine by me. If you're annoyed, u are seeing me better at least.

It's the brake light that flashes so bright those behind me have to stop so that they don't go into an epileptic seizure!

Glad your alive and doing better!

What happen to you goes through all our minds almost everytime we get on a bike. Will I make it home to ride again but soon the thought leaves out mind thanks to the freedom the ride brings us. Being retired military I'm sure you were wearing a helmet which may have saved your life. Will you get back on your bike after your accident to ride again only you and your family can decide. I have had a few accidents over the years, none my fault, and choose to ride again....I think it's in our blood but every circumstance is different.

I wish you well Sir and thank you for your service to our country.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

progressive dropped off the check for the cvo today. so i promptly went down to the harley dealer and spent it.

and of course, being as how we're a 2 bike family, the wife just couldn't stand that i was getting a new bike and she would still have her 2012, so we made a two-fer deal at the dealer. it ended up costing a little more than i would have liked, but we really got a fair deal. damn gov taxes was quite a bit, almost 10% here in la.

no pics yet, but in true skratch fashion, i went completely opposite what i had done before. my road king was white, so when i bought my first road glide i went denim black. then i went to the flashy cvo. this time, vivid black. i wanted the scorched orange, but they didn't have it, and no dealer nearby wanted to trade. i didn't care for the other colors, so i went with black. besides, parts are cheaper front fender on the cvo was $1100....

wife liked the industrial grey denim.

so 2 road glides, no mods, 2 x 5 year esp, and i'm back in the water again. didn't get to ride them home, doc hasn't cleared me to ride yet, so they will be delivering them to the house monday. picked up a payment, so mods will be slow in coming, plus, there is the warranty implications to think of, but we will be riding new bikes with the new infotainment system (which means someones gonna have to come find us when it gets us completely lost in bumfuk nowhere, lol) but life will be good again.

tomorrow will be spent taking off as many aftermarket parts from the wife's bike that we can before i start work on sun with no time off for the next two weeks.
Congrats on the 2 new bikes. I didn't think you were done riding yet.

Glad you didn't get hurt any worse than you did. I was rear ended in 2017 while riding the Dragon. Be sure you remove your seat and inspect the "spine" or frame of your bike. My frame was bent just at the edge of the fuel tank where the tail for the seat comes out. Finding that totaled my Limited no questions ask. Good luck with healing and your ride.
