Mustang Seats and Salt Lake Dealer

OK.... So I kept the Mustang seat from my RGU when I traded it in for the CVO. I decided to uglify the CVO and install the Mustang seat. Nowhere near as pretty as the HD seat, but much better for touring, especially with a passenger. I couldn't get the back to fit flush enough with the threads to screw it down. I called Mustang to see what the difference was between the RGU and the RGU CVO. I got an extremely helpful person on the phone right away, and he told me I needed to removed 2 glued on metal pieces with rubber in the middle of them. He suggested I use a hair dryer to make it easier. I tried that, but after a bit decided I was probably going to damage the paint and that I should take it to the dealer.
So off to Salt Lake Harley Daviidson.

I took it there in the middle of the day, without an appointment. The service manager took it straight in and gave it to a mechanic. He told me it was a harder job than it looked like, and that it would take 15-20 minutes. 20 minutes later it was done. NO CHARGE.

Hats off to Mustang for knowing their stuff. And a big thank you and hats off to Harley Davidson of Salt Lake City, for taking such good care of me.

I've had two CVORGU, or SERGU as they're also called and neither one of them have the fender strips on them. What year is yours? If it isn't an '11, '15 or '16, it isn't a CVORGU, it's a CVORG or SERG as they're called either one of them. The "U" designates the bike is an Ultra.

I've had several dealings with Mustang over the years and have always found them to be exemplary to deal with. They know there stuff and are willing to assist you in any way they can. From my experiences, they're a first class manufacturer and many other suppliers could learn a thing or two about customer service from them. Great job Mustang, keep it up.

Mine's a 19. The strips were under the passenger seat. 2 parallel pieces of metal with rubber sticking up. It's a RG. The bike I traded was an RGU, I get the models confused.

Mustang really was great to deal with. Not just with the support, but with the product as well. When I called for advise on what to buy they gave me a great recommendation but told me it was about a month out. It showed up within a week. And it was every bit as comfortable as they said it would be. Other brands talk about "break-in", but Mustang said it should work out of the box. And it did.

Just ordered a super solo and passenger pillon beginning of this week. Had them do the basket weave vinyl with a double diamond stich on the center panel of both seats and the rider back rest. Called and spoke to tech support a number of times. Very helpful could not have been a better experience. Can’t wait to see it on the bike! A big thank you to Neil in tech support for your help and patience! Was on the fence, Corbin or mustang. Think I made the right choice. Will post pics and review when I get it.

I also called them when I purchased my super tour seat to ask questions about my sport tour model , fit, etc, and the customer service was IMO super helpful as well, the last four scoots all had Mustang seats and this last one the super tour has been the best one yet. Two thumbs up.

When all else fails, hell there is always beer!

Neil called yesterday to let me know that they don't have enough of the thread i wanted to do the whole seat. Just called to let me know that the seat could be delayed a little longer than expected. Nice of him to call and give me the option to pic something else. The target date he said is still April 22nd.

FYI, dont throw the CVO seat back on without the strips. I did it and the CVO passenger seat put a small dent in my fender.
