Can water go down the tube into the primary?

Ya, I guess. But they use the same sort of hose on the trans, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah not sure why. here is the photo for others interested

Sadly poor design, and push to "slim" the primary covers seems to have caused a vacuum issue.

If you noticed the photo in the HTT thread, it was installed on the opposite side (left, if looking straight at the primary from the side) of where harley has put their "fix" vent

Just put our first one of these on today. Interesting to me that the vent tube vents directly over the top of the drive belt.

If there’s one thing the MoCo is known for, it’s their affinity for nostalgia. They’re trying to recreate the mess of the self-oiler chain days!

The kit comes with a pattern, said pattern rests on the dowels in the 1 o'clock ish position on the primary. You drill the pilot hole, then the final hole. The preformed vent tube goes through. Really only one way to do it. I suppose you could rig your own hose to go wherever you want, but with the pre-made one, you've got what you've got.

I know some have the transfer issue, some do not. My 2017 seemed to have done it right off the bat but has not done it sense. This morning with 25K on the bike and 9K on the primary I opened it up.
Not transfer in 9K. I drained the lube and measured it also it was right on what I put in last change. Just for the heck of it I filled it with the HD 80w-140 Trans/primary oil.
And for the record it has not sumpped either. Always wonder why one has a problem one does not?

Same here. I transferred about 7 ounces between 4k and 8k. I'm at 11k now and all levels are perfect. I don't think my riding style has changed.

I was wondering if weather has anything to do with it. I transferred in the hot summer months but didn't transfer in the winter and Fall. Do any of you have an opinion on that?

Get Greg Williams “fat clutch rod” from Macomb County Choppers. Lots of people have reported that the transfer stops after they installed it.
