New Seat

Got the HD Low Profile CVO Style seat delivered today.

First impressions when I sat down on it was this seat is a lot lower, and much firmer than my Nustang Super Tour (one piece, 2-up) Sitting down and low makes the bike feel bad ass.

Now, the short ride felt very different than I’m used to. I found it awkward to use the heel shifter, and it seemed much more natural to upshift with the toe. The seat felt hard and put pressure on my sit bones, and for the short ride, it wasn’t anywhere near as comfortable as my mustang.

I need to to put some miles on it to see if it breaks in any, but I am a bit disappointed. Wondering if I should have bought the mustang solo.

Anyway, her are a couple of pics:

New Seat

Same one I have and I really like it. I actually ordered the 2012 CVO RG seat but I’m sure it’s the same?

Some seats need to be broken in. I had to do about 750 miles before the burn stopped .

I hope your seat turns out to be comfortable after break in. I have been saving my pennies for that exact seat and would hate to hear that it's not comfortable for even short rides. I've always liked how the seat looks.

Sorry for slight hijack but does that bottle carrier leather ''bag'' over the rear crash bar work good? Where do you get them from? Looks great.

The seat you've posted pix of looks a bit too badass for me now. I have ridden on some real skimpy, supportless seats on kickstart FXs over the last 25yrs but I am now loving the deeply supportive LePera Maverick (Daddy Long Legs version) on my '19 RG. I bought a LePera Low Profile single seat secondhand for a great price, just as an alternative for a real low-slung look, but on such a (new to me) big motorcycle I kinda felt wobbly on it after 10 miles yesterday. It's gonna be for sale. The Maverick is already comfortable with hugely impressive back support. And most days on the bike I am doing 100 miles.

When I traded my RGU in for my CVO i kept my Mustang touring seat with the removable backrest. First thing I did was put it on the CVO. It doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the CVO seat, but I doubt they compare for touring. I still haven't put the back rest on, but when I go on long road trips I will.

Looks good, hope it breaks in soon for you.

Same seat I've got. Give it some time ,you'll love it. Very comfortable. The only down side is as you mentioned, you need to lift your foot up a little to use the heel shifter.
