First Bike Pics!

Greetings all.

Been deeply involved in a suspension issue and during my reviews I mentioned that I've been riding for a long time. For those of us a little long in the tooth, it's a little spooky when you do the math as to how long it's been.

Don't know if this was done before but nevertheless, figured it might be fun to see what bikes we started out on.

Honda Mini-Trail 50...Snappy bike to match my snappy jeans...oh boy.

About 1968. Honda 50. Brought most of it home in a box & got it running. So much fun!

Can’t get pic to load right.

Cool!! I had the same little red Mini Trail 50 3-speed as my first bike about 1969. Dad bought it second hand but it was in new condition and the best motorcycle in the world in my opinion! I had two friends that got the gold and blue versions and we rode the wheels off those things running through the woods and on country dirt roads. Great memories.

Those are some serious pants you are wearing there.... That was one of the same bikes I first learned to ride on, but it was not mine, a buddy had one and we would all end up at his house after school riding it for hours! Let me see if I can dig up a cool old pic too....

My first bike was made so long ago that the termites ended up eating the wheels off of it.

Actually it was a 1968 Yamaha Trailmaster 100 in yellow. It had 2 rear sprockets and came with 2 master links and a 4" piece of chain. You could convert it from "Street" to "Trail" in about 15 minutes. I was 15 when I bought that first bike, been riding ever since, although there were a few years here and there when family obligations left me with no scratch for a bike. The subject of my conversations with riding buddies lately always seems to come around to "How many more riding years do you figure you've got left?" I figure that with a little luck, I'm in the 5+ year range. I'll ride til I can't ride no more!

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” - HST

Those bikes were bullet proof. They took a beating, just what a young kid wanted!

I am hoping to be healthy enough to ride till I am no longer here. I never want to give up or put a time frame on how long I will ride. Lord willing it will be until I am dead and gone.

Can't remember that far, but I had a old Honda Trail. Was the identifying named QA-50???
Something like that? Then I moved to a couple of dirt/trail bikes, Bultaco, Maico, CZ, Husky, then back to Honda and Yamis..
First street bike was a Yamaha RD 400!. Fast little 2strokes getter! Sorry no cool snappy jeans.
