What kinda MPG is everyone getting? Here's mine

(all my figures here converted to American measures )

I've racked up 2500 miles in my first 6 weeks on the 2019 FLTRX, and I've been calculating my gas mileage.

I'm running Stage 2 H-D torque cam, cat-free headers, S&S Grand National slip-ons and stealth air intake

Most of my riding is at 60-65mph on freeways, 100-mile round trip to work, so my mileage is obviously gonna be good. I am commuting 3-4 days each week on the bike and I try to avoid the urban crawl in heavy traffic, lucky I work odd hours and avoid the rush hours.

Repeated analysis shows I'm getting an average of 41-42mpg!

Seriously impressed. Quite a bit better than my Shovelhead.

Premium gas here is $4-$4.20 US a gallon. My GM LS1 V8-powered station wagon does around 20mpg and costs more in freeway tolls, so i am saving quite a bit of money as well as enjoying the trip to work more.

Is this typical MPG?

I'm right about where you are. 40ish.

My Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 35s gets about 17mpg. And is almost as much fun as the bike.

I'm averaging low 40s on a completely stock 114. But I ride most of my miles out on the highway above 75 mph. If you're doing highway riding I don't see how you can get much better then low 40's. Poking around on back roads and riding around the neighborhood you might be able to do better.

I don't think my bike has seen 75 mph.

All of my riding is for pleasure these days. I don't need to out accelerate anyone. Don't need to keep up with anyone. Not in a hurry to get anywhere. Just get to decompress on some of the prettiest deserted roads in the country.

When I drive the cage into work now I wonder how I ever did it all those years by bike.
