Can't give it away
I want to sell my 2012 ultra but it seems like I can't give it away. It's got plenty of aftermarket goodies but it has 53,000 miles. I've been advertising for $9995 which is right in the middle of the NADA Guide range. I've only had a a handful of inquiries and none serious. I'm not sure if it's priced too high because of the mileage of if it's too low and discouraging people from looking. I've only traded my past Harley's so I'm swimming in new waters here. Looking for some sage advice on selling.

You may be right regarding possible low pricing. Its human nature to doubt.
Bump up the price to $10,500 and see what happens..
Good luck with the sale..

Pre-Rushmore bikes do not move as quick........combine that with the fact that there are "Pre M8" Rushmores out there on the market too and you are up against it.
2nd, the RG and even more so, the RGU is an acquired taste so your buyer market is significantly smaller than say a Dyna buyer - My .02, price has little to do with it as much as the bike itself and those who would buy said bike.....it will just take longer

The price is good. I think your issue is with what you are selling. Its just not a real desirable vintage of scooter. Pre Rushmore geezer glides are just not selling very well.
It's more money than the unfinanceable minions are going to want to pay. And them what can swing the cash or have good credit can move up to less miles on a newer scooter for just a few more bucks a month.
Put it out there were enough people can see it, and it will sell. Try FB if you want to reach a lot of people for free.

I just tried selling my 2015 RG standard with quite a bit of ginger on it with an extended warranty for $18k with 14000 miles on it. I had not one inquiry but the exit strategy was to trade it in for $15500 including the tour pack and stripping the rest of it back to stock. I think your price is pretty reasonable, it's just a tough market I'm guessing and maybe even some demographic challenges. Good luck!

There's also consignment. Some bikes have to be seen to be fully appreciated. Sure the dealer gets 10% but he's motivated to get top dollar. I say this because I sold a bike on consignment once and it was a great experience and my bike sold in a week. Just sayin'. Good luck.

When I am ready for a new bike I trade or price to sell.
Friends of mine who want market value have taken up to 10 months to find the right buyer. I'm too impatient to wait that long.

I have 37k on my 2011 fltrx and doubt I will sell at this point, just ride the hell outta of it, if a deal was right on maybe I would trade but I know why the bikes cross 50k it becomes a harder sell, so maybe you could keep it and give it a face lift as an option, just saying.

I see bikes all of the time that have been for sale more than six (6) months. So if you want to sell soon, you'll need to drop the price. I feel your pain!

Same in Australia. We have an avalanche of used Harleys on the market here. And once mileage goes over 30K-40K, that REALLY narrows the pool of potential buyers. You and I know these bikes can go round and round and round the clock, but Joe Newbie does not know that and would rather peruse the 95% of For Sale adverts of bikes with ultra low mileage. And the guys that do know would rather go with cheap finance and a new or near-new bike.
I've seen 2014s for sale here with less than 3500 miles on them...I've done that in 8 weeks on my 2019 FLTRX!
