Rushmore fairing rattles?

Owned a pre Rushmore model,2012 Ultra and currently a 2015 Fltrx. Like the looks of both fairings but new design is a bit more effective with those vents. However, the newer fairing has had a bit more rattles on my bike than the older version and was wondering if anyone else had that issue. A couple times in the past ,I took top part off and had to snap panels back in place but still had some rattles afterwards and decided to just deal with it. The other day, took top part off again and noticed a couple spots wouldn’t snap in place anymore and put a dab of glue in those spots and added some small rubber sticky pads in between the panels before clamping them together. Also, the bolts on each side of the top vent had a lot of play in them shaking back and forth. I took the e-clip off the edge of bolt and added a washer on both sides of the vent to minimize the play with almost no movement at all. When test riding it afterwards, was happy with results and bike never felt tighter. Sometimes it takes small things to make a ride more pleasurable lol

Miss that bike and wish I could’ve held onto that one too and have one of each lol. Happy with my 15’ though and probably won’t be looking at a new Road Glide until they do some major changes and upgrades to them

Thumbs down

You/we shouldn't have to deal with this on a HIGH end bike. A $5,000 bike from China I'm OK with this type of problem. When will the MoCo see the light ?

I agree. Don’t have many complaints about my bike, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the fairing dept. Hopefully when bikes come with new frames and shocks ,they’ll refresh and upgrade the fairing too a bit. Also had 2 of my brass threads spin around inside fairing, which has been a common problem for many too. Pia to get them out but glued and tapped them back in place again and so far seems to be holding up. Love my Road Glide but pretty soon my entire fairing will be held together with freakin’ gorilla glue LOL
