So has anyone purchased a 2020 Roadglide yet ?

Guys are talking about them, but has anyone pulled the trigger yet ?

If so post up some pictures and let us all know what you think of the 2020 Roadglide.

Looking forward in seeing some pictures.

Went to take a look last weekend and was met with a pushy little bastard who kept asking me to "run numbers" and actually asked me what I owe on my '18. We hadn't gotten anywhere NEAR that conversation as I was just taking the bike in. Gotta admit, I really liked it but found a few things a bit puzzling (heal shifter, fairing vents, etc). Not deal-breakers mind you, plus that color scheme really got my attention. I plan to go in on Saturday before Dorian gives us a soak, and I'll post what I found out.

Link to pics I took and loaded to another thread...

they didn't do away completely with the fob. they are only giving you one fob when you buy the bike. if you want a second, then you have to purchase it yourself.

yeah, i think it kinda sucks, but on the other hand, i've had a bike with the proximity fob since they were first introduced in 2007. in all that time, i've never needed a second fob. but, i learned early on how to use the security override. to this day, i still do it from time to time, plus, i don't stock up on 2032 watch batteries. i let the one in my fob go dead, use the security override until i make it to the store to pick up a new battery. rinse, and repeat.....

most of the issues i've seen with the security/fob have been owner induced. i think i may have seen 2 actual cases of the security actually being at fault.

and while we're on the subject, can i bring up a pet peeve? if you park in an area where you have rf interference, why oh why do you insist on pushing your bike around the parking lot until you find a clear zone? why not just use your damn code? it's a lot easier to push turn signal buttons than a 900 lb bike.

I agree sometimes simpler is better but there are backups in most cases and if the owner doesn't review his owners manual and familiarize himself with what those backups are then that's on him. FOB issues are very simple to get around but yet here we are going into 2020 and people still don't know how to use their security code. I like having 2 FOBS for the bike but not because might fail but because I constantly forget where I left my keys. Lol!

i might be alone in my thinking, but isn't it the dealer's responsibility to make sure THE CUSTOMER is aware of issues to avoid?
in my experience i was basically given a set of keys and was told thanks for everything, see ya.
until the MOCO decides to change THE CULTURE, we're pretty much stuck.

They will start selling but with the 2019's still on the showroom floors, and really no major change on the bike, one could be hard pressed to pay the price to be the first on your block with a 2020. Now, when the new frame comes out...…….(Next year?!?!?) that could be enough to get folks to buy the new model once it hits the floor. We will see.

Didn't buy it but this was the bike I was considering before I bought my CVO.

Am I glad I got the CVO? Yes I am. Do I like the looks of this new bike? Yes mostly but I wasn't head over heels with the M8.

Ran into this Vietnam Veteran while I was at the dealer, he's 71 years old and still riding a bike. Plus he has a friend that rides with him all the time.

I had a Tri Glide bor a couple of years before I got my RG. When I bought it the salesman went over a few things like the reverse and the EITMS and the linked brakes. When I read through the owner's manual I found out most of what he told me was wrong.

I always read though the manual when I buy a new vehicle.

i just don't think it is asking too much to be informed of a potentially hazardous situation like losing a key fob and knowing how to start the bike.

and yes, each dealer is different, better, more informed, whatever, but the brand is only as good as it is represented by someone employed by the brand.
the worst dealer rep is gonna sink the best dealer rep.

around here they all cop a "take it or leave it" attitude and that discourages me from buying their wares. that applies to the sales staff, parts and service.

i've talked to so many people that ride other bike brands that walked out the door when treated this way.
i stick up for the MOCO with them because i believe in the heritage of the brand. but it's getting harder to make excuses.

they're not going to sell more bikes until they change the culture.

i just want to be treated the way that i treat them.

Sorry but I don't find it HAZARDOUS by losing your fob. Are motorcycle riders some how less knowledgeable than car owners? If you lose your fob to your car you can't get into it or start it. If your house is locked you can't get into it with out your keys.

I just bought a Honda CB500X for my daughter and got pretty much the same amount of explanation on it's operation as I did on my Harley. So I do not think it is limited to ONLY HD salesmen.

Could be true what you’re saying and posted about this earlier. If these heel shifters are causing shafts to strip prematurely, then I would say they are considered a design flaw. Yet, Harley used them for many many decades(at least since the 60s) and waited till 2020 to remove them lol
Granted I don't have over 20k on any of my bikes but I have used the heel shifter on every RG since 2009 and never had a issue with them stripping out. One question I'd ask is were you using the stock shifters or did you have a different one on there? After buying some aftermarket shift levers I have figured out some don't have the spline made properly.

I have a friend who bought a '20 RG Limited last weekend. He's been wanting the scorched orange and his dealer got him a '20 first thing so he traded his '17 on it. I'll give him a shout and see if he'll post his impressions so far.

I'm one of the weird people that like the heel shifter. It makes it easier to find neutral and is a big help when my gout kicks in. Besides it helps when someone I'm riding with strips out their shifter they can borrow my heel shifter to get them home. I think too people aggressively stomping on them contributes to them stripping out. I'm the biggest lard-ass in 50 states and I have plenty of room on the foot boards :surprise::grin:

Well I went finally and had a look for myself.

The new Roadglides are killer but I'm still so happy with my 2015 RGS done my way, I'm just not willing to let it go yet.

My sled has 54,000+ miles and it's been bullet proof.

If I was to pull the trigger it would have been the CVO in battleship gray.

It's hard to get rid of something that has just been great and my bike is still kicking ass.

Still looking to see some pictures of a 2020 with mods underway.

Took the day off to check them out the first impression is fine.I have a 2010 looking to upgrade. Then on closer inspection the cheapening becomes apparent.RGS, No heal shifter ,one security fob,the cowling paint over the top vent does not match the inner flaring Black. The lower vent holes are just that... open holes. Its ok though for 300.00 they can make them function.Moving over to the CVO’s saw a street glide not my thing but I like the CVO version. What is with the exhaust finish? Brushed aluminum but the end caps are chrome. They knew what they did and chrome the tip as a haha to the owner.Look at the CVO Limited it really stands out and ruins a nice bike.I like to personalize as much as anyone but at these prices we should not have to do their work for them with our wallets.Have a great Labor Day and be thankful for for what we own. What I saw, I left with a real feeling of gratitude.Ride Safe

First RG

I bought one today. First RG so the things that have been discussed are all new to me. The sales person pointed the lack of the vent closing, single FOB & no heal shifter to me without asking. My dealer was at least was educated enough to Len me know.

I had. 2007 Ultra Classic with a 107. The 114 is much better. The smoothness of the ride is as different as night & day. The RG is meeting all of my expectations so far

That’s not too bad. When I had my Ultra, used the same fob for 3 and a half years until I sold it while second one was sitting in a drawer anyway. You can get away with using just one for a while and changing battery every year. But I understand why folks are annoyed with Harley cutting back things, including the heel shifters. Can only imagine how much they save when you think of total amount of bikes sold. The one fob and heel shifter removal doesn’t bother me much. Harley should at least have put screens in the lower vents imo.
