Oil pressure sensor failed

So was rolling home from work yesterday on the interstate and the oil light came on. Fortunately I was only about one mile from the dealership here. Pulled into the service department and got them to take a look. It was showing high and low pressure failure. Bike has 9,991 miles on it. Anybody else had this happen.

Did they determine it was indeed the sensor?

I drop it off in the morning. Oil level in the bike was fine.

What year bike? I know for a while it was not uncommon for the sending unit to go bad. Happened on my 2010. Not sure if it's an issue with the newer bokes.

Heís got a 2017. Donít know as any of the M8 oil pump failures had that symptom or not, but letís hope itís something simple.

I certainly hope itís something simple. Other than the inconvenience of having to put it in the shop itís not a big deal. Just means I have to ride the choppet the remainder of this week. Probably be good for me. I have really enjoyed the Roadglide since I bought it. Back to bare bones I go for a minute.

On my 13 oil light started to flicker. Replaced sending unit, no luck. Looks like it is a bad pin in wiring. I have ridden a couple thousand miles with no problem. I just need to make some time to find it.

If it were an oil pump failure you would hear the lack of oiling and know something was wrong. If the gauge is acting inconsistent I would say it is the sending unit or a wiring issue. I'm sure they will figure it out. Good thing is that the MoCo seems to have designed a good pump now so if it is his pump get the new one put in and he should be golden.

Bike never made any strange noise. I donít think it is the pump but most likely the gauge has failed. They will get it figured out today and I will post what they find.
