Well here it goes, figured it would be Interesting to see what is the highest amount of miles you have gotten on your scoots, one of my riding buddies got close to 120k on his Roadking and his rear jug gave way. I have 41k on my 2011 Roadglide custom which for me is the highest I have put on any bike, just trying to get an idea how many miles can you out on these air cooled V twins, so let me know how much have you guys gotten on a scoot , thanks.

My 84 EVO Tour Glide I got 225000 , top end re ringed once ..

My 88 Tour Glide I got 342000 , top end re built once ..

There was a man from NC who put over 400,000 on his Tour Glide , they tore it down and everything was still within factory specs , had a big write up in American Iron back then . Harley gave him a new bike to replace it and I think they put the TG in the museum ..

I got 45k no work yet. A bro had 90k on an 09 that had a Stage 2 at 25k

I put close to your mileage (40k) on my my 12 RG Ultra in less than 3 years touring the whole country after retirement. When the brand new restyled RG came out in 15, I was offered a decent trade in and couldn’t resist. My 15 only has 20k now so far. My friend has an 07 Softail Heritage and has over 100k on it without doing a single thing to motor. These motors are so good that they should last 100k plus with ease, especially if you leave them alone and as stock as possible without major engine work and kits etc. I noticed that those who mess with engines too much are the ones who have problems the most

This is the secret and putting a tuner on early to richen the fuel up ...

My 11 is at almost 75000 .. Going in this winter to check the tensioner shoes and replace the cam bearings and lifters , and put a mild cam in ...

Bike never had a major issue except for the VR crapping under warranty and the VR going out in 2017 on the Kentucky trip with the gang here , and I replaced the entire system that winter with CE kit ...

Not planning on getting rid of this one ..

Well the tuner went on my bike very early on , and the only motor work I did was a set of Feuling 525 cams ,nothing crazy or high lift after my lifter crapped out at 10k, I don't beat the crap outta it and I service it meticulously, so I hope I can get some good miles outta this glide, I keep wondering if I should add an oil cooler to my 96 inch if that would help.

98 FXSTC EVO currently 98k, 90k a cylinder sleeve migrated and did a full top end. Doesn't get much use since I picked up the RGS.

I put 42k on a Katana 1100, and have almost 40k on my 2011 FLTRX.

I heard that Steady Eddie once put over 2,200 miles on a bike before he traded it!

I had 13K plus on the '17 when I traded it on the CVO........the most of ANY bike for me.........prob my old '99 FXDX that I had about 25K on but I beat the hell out of my motors.......starting to mellow out a bit........but I still lay into the right grip now and then and bang 'em down hard into a corner

I am very curious to see the longevity of these M8s , Twin cams lasted longer than the Evos from what I have seen I wonder if this will hold true with the M8s, I also think what part of the country your in has to do with it, down south those air cooled motors are subjected to a greater amount of heat than up north, I am pretty sure that plays a factor as well.

I have been lucky I guess , or just good maintenance ( or both ) . I had over 120,000 On my 02’ Heritage Softail classic. Over 110,000 miles on my 08’ Roadking Classic, and over 120,000 on my 12’ Roadglide Special. I currently have 40,000 on my 18’ Roadglide Special . The only issue I ever had was a ECM Go out on my 02’ Heritage ( which was covered under warranty ) . Amsoil in all three holes every 5000 miles !!!!!

I will jump in here. Just rolled 128,000 miles this past weekend on a 2015 Road Glide Ultra CVO. Had a rear seal blow out at around 70,000, covered under ESP. Other than the normal maintenance and small issues (water pump, stator) everything still runs like a champ.

Have a nice day.
