Sorry about the new thread

I am new to all this forum stuff, so I hope I don't screw all this up! I looked for the thread that had some pictures of other Ipod holders, but couldn't find them at this point.

I just wanted to post a few pix of my newest design of Ipod holder. Works pretty good; I got to test it out this evening. After the test I put a coat of black paint on it. I will post new pictures tomorrow after I re-install it.

If you are curious, it was made using a rapid prototyping machine. The material is a plastic resin. This is one of the advantages of the job! We get to play with new ideas. Oh, and the design was done using 3 dimensional parametric modeling on a computer!

I don't know how many pictures I should place on this thread, so I will put them in my album. If I can!

Great idea. Let us know if they come up for sale.. Just a thought, how about a rain flap to cover the Ipod?

No offense taken Chainsaw!

No offense taken, you are right. LOL I have it painted black now. I plan to hightlight the lettering when I get time. Here are some pix. As for all that might want one-I don't know where we go from here. I made this at work and I am not sure how that would go over. I would entertain any ideas from some enterprising person that would want to look into getting some mass produced. I have some ideas that may not be too hard to get accomplished. Just PM me.
Rain flap? WHo ever rides in the rain???? :) Oh, RG riders 'cause they handle so well, duh! :)

1st week I had my bike I was on a ride with 600 bikes, and it started raining.
3-4 inch deep in water, bikes were stalling all over the place, not the RG.

I then road home in the heavy rain/ and wind at 75-80 mph. no wind sheer, nothing. Bike went through the rain like it wasn't there, passing cars left and right in pouring rain!

Welcome to the DARK SIDE!:eek:

I don't think that would work

I work for a community college. I would be willing to bet that my favorite uncle (Sam) would not appreciate my making money off the taxpayers. I like my job and wouldn't want to jeopardize it. I am not going to give up on it though. I might be able to find someone willing to go with me to make a mold for these. I don't know-maybe pour it out of aluminum or even plastic. As for the Iphone version-I don't have an Iphone to pattern one from. I think I can get the numbers from a website though. It shouldn't be hard to make one for them though.
Thanks for all the positive comments as well. I try to teach mechanical design for a living, so I think it is crucial to be able to practice what I preach. So, if any of you ever have ideas for projects let me know.

yeah, I got caught in the rain once last year and about the only parts of me that got wet were my lower legs and top of head. I now have lowers on so I suspect that the legs won't get wet either. I can't wait to find out!! :)
I sure hope the MoCo doesn't discontinue this model!
