HD Progress Quote - Ridiculous

I just got a letter in the mail to get a quote on "HD" insurance. So I went online and checked it out. For the EXACT same coverage that I have with AAA the "HD" insurance which is actually Progressive was $847 per year. My AAA rate is $465 per year.

Wow...any of you with Progressive might want to think about shopping around.

DETERMINED to spend more time riding this bike and less time wrenching and customizing!

I'm with State Farm

I am with State Farm, which also has my car and house. I pay a little over $600 a year but have very good coverage.

Check your coverage and if you do not have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on your bike policy, you definately need to get it. Last May another rider ran into me, doing some minor damage to my bike, and major damage to me which resulted in $76,000 in hospital bills. The very day I got out of the hospital, his Progressive rep was at my door waving a $10,000 check in my face...his total policy limit! There wasn't too much point in suing the guy, because insurance was maxed out and he had no cash.

Anyway, my medical coverage picked up most of the bills, and State Farm paid the rest and took care of me very well. I repeat...you need this coverage and it isn't that expensive.

I have Progressive full coverage on 2 bikes 2011 RGU and 2009 KLR650 and total is $422 a year. Here is the strange thing it cost less to insure both bikes then just the RGU. makes no sense at all.

Multiple bike discounts. I use Foremost ins. 5 bikes full coverage 40 yrs old, clean license in NJ with one bike insured for 50k which most companies wont do comes to 1,745. a year. Pretty good i think
