Probably just as well to start with the canned maps from S&S for their 124's. Why wouldn't you take a build of that magnitude and jingle you've invested and make sure it's getting what it wants on a dyno as soon as you start the first heat cycles... or do you have one of the auto adjusters?

Whats your 20? Maybe someone can chime in with a good dyno operator in your area. With a build like that, Id personally be willing to make a pretty good trek to get it in the hands of the right guy if your time/job, life permits. That should be a screamer.

I would give Frank over at Dragos a call when you get a chance. He's got a ton of maps for multiple builds.

I agree with Indy on the canned maps, this is how I would handle it. Download the 124 map with their type b heads. Purchase at pro ~ then you can fine tune over a few hundred miles. Second, real time AFR's staring you in the face. The money not spent on the tune will more than pay for the AT Pro. I am using one on my 124 and I have peace of mind that mine is getting what it needs.... You will find the map on this link:

Would that map that your recommending be a canned map?

Not after it's tuned... Especially dyno tuned. I'm not a big fan of autotune. IMO it should be called "auto adjust" but that wouldn't imply something that would sell as much product. Some engines like different fuel and timing settings than a generic predetermined target fuel and/or timing setting. If you're ok with being "safe" I suppose they're substantial but until power is measured on any given engine, a target fuel setting may not be that engines peak potential. And it may make better power richer or leaner through the entire rpm range and may like leaner conditions at lower rpm ranges and richer settings at higher rpm ranges or vice versa. Or, it may like more fuel through the mid RPMs and not so much in the lower or higher RPMs. On a build of this magnitude particularly, some coin has been spent. I wouldn't settle for "safe" and cheap out on arguably the most important element of any engine to live a long and strong life. Especially an air cooled engine. Kinda gives me a chuckle when people get hung up on the AFR line being perfectly straight. I mean, are we tuning the O2 sensors and/or ECM to be happy or do we want the engine to be happy? Engine fuel and timing settings are not a "one size fits all" even comparing maps from two bikes with identical parts.
