Dedicated Bike/Mancave.

Its 14 x 20. Had them upgrade to 6" ceiling joists. It's a 2 x 6 tongue and groove floor. Insulated windows and man door and a 7 x 8 garage door. That's getting installed this week. For reference. That bench is 8' long. I have it sideways so the lift will go pretty close to center. I'll start wiring it up inside this week. Will have a flat screen and a fridge. Few bar stools. And Harleys. Nothing else. Well. My Jeep doors. But that's it.

Nice!

Definitely want to insulate that and maybe even install a mini-split heat pump? That would be super badass.
Will definitely be insulated and sheet rocked.
I have a 200 amp service in my house with 2 - 100 amp feeds. So I'm putting in a 100 amp panel.with 20 breakers. Each wall will have it's own breaker. The compressor will have it's own circuit as will the fridge and TV, garage door opener and ceiling fan. Running 12-2 wire so it will be more than fine with any draw it may pull. I have natural gas at my house so I'm running a gas line into it and will eventually add a heater so its heated all winter for pennies. The 2 x 6 trusses were added not just for strength but I can put a higher R value insulation in it. Will start all the wiring this week. But we're working 60+ hours a week until further notice. Cant wait to get the garage door on and the ramp. Then I can put the bikes in it.

Cool project, and a great space for the bikes! What are you going to do for flooring? Be sure to keep us updated!

Just a thought.....I have always used 5/8 or 3/4 press board for the walls and ceiling. Stronger. You can close any joint gaps with putty. You can’t dent it like sheet rock, and wherever you want to hang something, you hang it, baby. No searching for studs. Screw them to the wall, you can always take one off to repair/add wiring, anything. Paint it with sealer, any color. GREAT looking digs, man.

Last 5 years my bikes have been In a plastic 199.00 Tractor supply 10x10 tarp shed. Believe me. This is a huge relief. No mo storage at Harley over the winter.
Very cool. Should require its own "special knock" to in!
Haha. I'm going to be the only one that knows it.
I am digging it! Does the Mrs know its big enough for 2 Bikes yet?
Ya. She's a smart one. Her bike gets to go in there too. Lol.

I did a 12 X 20 2 years ago also insulated and powered up.. I use a Blue Flame propane heater keeps it 65 all winter.. Caution this will lead to more winter mods!! >:) I used 1/2" plywood for the walls/ceiling as mentioned earlier you can hang anything anywhere and you won't knock a hole in it if you bump into it... It seems big empty but when you get your stuff in there you will be surprised how little room you have.. Trust me I know... Great job ENJOY!!!

yeah it does get small after you put everything in it. my 40 x 48 has filled up nicely over the 12 yrs i've had it. don't have insulation but in so. tex not so critical, i have a boxwood stove with power blower on the exhaust works well down to 35°, below that texas closes down and evacuates. i second the 1/2 in. ply or particle board for the walls don't have to worry about hangin heavy stuff on the bulkheads. buddy down here just built the ultimate, 60 x 100 with central air and heat, with full bath w/shower and four bay doors.

I have a fully finished 30 x 30 at my other house. All 2 x 6 construction fully wrapped in 3/4" tongue and groove plywood. Insulated sheet rocked and heated. But my renter gets to enjoy that.

I'm just going by the haircuts on the young guys doing the build but did you get Amish guys to do it? I know they do incredible work. They did a few builds by me. (It's probably just the latest style haircut. What the hell do I know.)
Yep, they be the Amish. I'm in farm country. Lots of them here.
