Just tried to book, and they are currently out of rooms. Was advised to call back in a few hours to see if they allocated more rooms.

Update 8/25 - The host hotel is sold out of our block of rooms. We are working to add more rooms to our block. Please hold off on booking at other local hotels for a few days while we work to add more to the host hotel. Ideally, we would like to get as many people as possible in the 1 hotel.

Alright, I'm booked at the host hotel... I'll keep my outpost at the hotel across the street so maybe I can take the ex-wife and the GF...?

For the heck of it, I went on Booking.com and found you can still get a non-smoking room at the host hotel during SW ($40 more)... FYI

Just one State Line this time. Should be easy. Still gonna call the Consulate to make sure...

Just booked a room at the Hampton Inn so I could get non-smoking, 7/24 thru 7/28, but not sure if I'm heading up Sunday & going part way or leaving on Monday. All depends if I'm riding with anyone or not.

No offense, Dan, but here are my two cents on this. Okay, maybe four cents.
First of all, props for a great venue; can't wait to get back to NC. Some of the best riding roads in our great nation. And hosting an event like this has to be a PIA.
But, the Canadians underestimated how many folks would show up. Host hotel couldn't handle everyone. Troy and buddies put on a great rally despite this (and they couldn't have been better hosts/hostesses). But I think it was tough for those who booked later (I got "schooled" by some members over this for not booking sooner, as in immediately after the host hotel was announced). So, I booked at Stoney Nakoda (host hotel), but not at the forum rate. Troy took care of reducing that rate after the fact (thanks a million!!!). Our rallies have grown every year and even with Canada (when attendance was expected to be lower), we filled that hotel.
But, only 100 rooms were blocked off for NC? Most RG forum folks are back in that area! I am kind of surprised that 150 wouldn't have been the starting point. Obviously we are probably going to exceed that.
As for booking adjacent hotels, I would say go for it to any member (contrary to telling folks to wait); you can always cancel. Always great to stay at the host hotel. 20 more rooms may not be enough. And I really don't want to see new forum members discouraged from attending such a great rally.
I frankly can't wait for SWVII. I'm sure this will be great. But I bet there will be more than 170 Sharks in North Carolina next year.

Once I make up my mind, I'm full of indecision.
