Do Saddlebag Locks Have Plastic inside?

Hi all,

I figure someone will know -
I want to powder coat the two locks off my RG saddlebags ('13). I need to make sure the lock has no plastic in the lock (just the lock) as it will, of course, melt during the process.

Thanks ahead of time.
Josh

Are you referring to the saddlebag latches or the locks on the latches?? From what I can tell both are made of metal. The reflectors in the latches are plastic but they are just stuck on with 2 sided tape and can be removed.

I just took the locks and latches apart last night to swap the cylinders. I did not see any plastic inside the lock cylinder.

It can be done. roger at final touch powder coat (spring lake, nc) did em. Key works fine. He did the hinge also and is fine. Now, the entire saddlebag assembly is viv black.
