Rear saddlebag guard holes

Ok, so I was surfing ebay, and found a smoking deal on some rear saddlebag guards. These were set up for the twin rail style wrap-around accent pieces and I do not want to install those just yet. So do any of you have a suggestion as to how to plug the 4 holes temporarily? Thanks for the advice.

The bars have not been delivered yet, but judgeing from the picture they are a through hole about 1/4" in diameter.

Garage
I have seen friends that take the chrome bolts and use spike nuts to accent over the bolts.
The bases are still used with the chrome bolts and the spikes point toward the rear.
