Laconia 2019

Getting this years thread started!

Opens Saturday June 8th (Or, Friday June 7th for early birds) Running for the week until following Sunday June 16th.

Of news at this point, Zac Brown Band playing the NH Pavilion down near the airport on Friday 7th and Saturday June 8th. Tickets went on sale today. Nice venue, that also has some camping spots for cycles !

My favorite band to see during the week Manchuka , is playing the Tower Hill Friday the 7th and again on Thursday the 13th.

Please, this is an open thread. Feel free to Post away !

One of my buddies and I are talking about possibly doing a road trip from florida to Laconia this year for the bike event. At this point its either going to be laconia or arkansas to ride the ozark mountains. Time will be our biggest factor since I'm only wanting to use 5 vacation days at work, that would give me a total of 9 days including the weekends. Whats the weather usually like up there that time of year? What kind of condition are the roads in, pretty rough, not too bad, Beat the shit out of you?

Laconia is know for experiencing a lot of rain. I went twice and wore rain gear most of the time. It's very crowded. Probably the best thing you can do there is go up Mt. Washington. The mountain is usually closed to cars during bike week. Only my opinion but unless you're a partier, I'd rather do the Ozarks than Laconia.

NY and NE roads are ok maybe good but then I ride here and don't know any better.

It's not uncommon to see some rain. I've been there years and it's 60's and 90's and everything in between.

Always a good time

Thanks Geo and madmat...I'm not a big partier anymore. I'll drink a few beers or mixed drinks/shots back at the hotel in the evening but I don't drink while riding other then maybe a beer with lunch type of thing. I'd rather get out and ride the roads. When we did a trip from florida to sturgis in 2011 we only went into sturgis for one day, bought some shirts, got a "sturgis' tattoo and then spent the rest of the time in south dakota riding all the roads.

I am headed there myself, arriving Sat the 8th staying in Tilton, any of you fellas would like to meet up let me know, I am there till Tues the 11th then heading home avoiding the crowds. I did all that madness at the end of the week a few times already, going for the riding and buddy getaway, got me and five of my buddies heading there early in the week this time. And yes like Taz I drink back at my hotel a few beers and chill with a fine cigar and some dudes telling stories, good stuff.

I seem to do the same thing you did with Sturgis wherever I go. I go to these bike weeks because it's a destination to ride to. I get there, hate the crowds, check it off the bucket list, and wind up riding to a nearby state or destination. I'm in bed by 10 so the nightlife thing doesn't do it for me. (My hangover days are behind me.) I'm doing Sturgis this year but in July.
