FINALLY....almost a real member!
So I've been lurking here for a few years now, ever since the Rushmore project started and the touring bikes got their 'redesigned' fairings. I test-rode a '15 Road Glide, and while I liked it, I wanted to move up to a bike with a Tour Pak, so I held off. Then in '16, I found a great deal on my current '15 Ultra Limited, and since the RGU was brand new to the fleet, that wasn't going to be possible for me at the time. So...I've had the Limited for a few years and 21K miles (not as much as I'd like, but not too bad for Upstate NY either), and a couple of my buddies have gone over to the Sharknoses in the last year; one on an '18 Road Glide Ultra and another on a '19 Road Glide Special...so now it's time to look again.
And lo and behold, I found my new ride, at an Indian dealership of all places. So this coming week (working around work and the 4th of July), I'll be trading my Limited on a '17 Briliant Silver/Vivid Black Road Glide Ultra. The last couple days I've been removing custom parts that I didn't want to trade with MY bike (Kahuna collection boards/grips, Biketronics stereo system, Corbin SoloTour seat), reinstalling the stock parts (stock heated grips, stereo and speakers, floorboards, etc.) so I can make the trade happen. Just have to settle on the financing with my bank, and of course, I'm working M-W as well as preparing for my CVMA Chapter Poker Run (6JUL19 at the Lansingburgh Vets Club if anyone is local to Troy, NY!!). I'm thinking that due to my schedule and that of the sales guy, the deal might not get closed until Friday, but soon I'll ACTUALLY be a proper member here!
What's the FIRST order of business for me to change out, after the Corbin seat (the PO already pulled the heel shifter!)? I know the lower/farther back seating position will affect windshields and handlebar placement, so the only parts on order right now are going to be Custom Dynamics lighting for the rear and windshield trim. Those things, and a Biketronics RG Amp Tray so the Biketronics BT4180, Sony XAV-AX5000 and Arc Moto 602s/Alpine SPR-60s can all be installed at once. The new ride also has a SEPST, but seems like stock intake/exhaust on it, so that's something to move my Powervision with Target Tune over in place of eventually.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
