Another Race Tech Question

Indy installed the race tech suspension kit with gold emulators lowered 1 inch. It looked lower to me and bottomed out alot. when I measured it was 2 inches lower. I took it back and he is going to check it out but he is certain he only added the 1 inch rebound spring to the damper rod provided in the kit and discarded the stock damper spring. Do you guys have any other ideas. Sorry for the questions but suspension is not my cup of tea.

Did you buy the lowered kit which includes a lowered main spring plus a lowered topout/rebound spring?

You also may need to change the weight of the fork oil.

I'll check with the Indy in the am on the kit. I assumed it was the high performance kit with stock spring. I think the kit said it could lower 1 to 2 inches max

How much SAG is in the fork? If you are off the bike and try to pick up on the forks , are they topped out or are they sagging a little? This is probably where why it is more than 1" lower. Have your mechanic set up the pre load to the correct amount of SAG with you on the bike.

Stock forks have about 4.6" of travel, lowered 1" makes for 3.6" (extended to bottomed) SAG should be about 1/3 of the travel (1.2") with you on the bike.
