'13 RG CVO shocks vs 944's

I have the non-air CVO shocks and find that if I set it stiff for 2-up I will still bottom out (and she's only 105-lbs; I'm 210). Then if I don't set them soft when riding solo it will literally bounce my ass two feet up when i hit a bump. I'm 6-3" so I don't want to lower it. Any suggestions? I already installed the monotubes and really appreciate the improved ride.

I had the 944's, great ride. Only time we had a issue is if we were fully loaded down touring, or a BIG unseen pothole/crack in the road. I'm 250, wife is 140ish.

Ive ridden with stock, 940 and a couple friends bikes that have the hand Adjustable CVO, Terry cable and Ohlins.

IMO they line up like this from worst to best
1. Stock HD air
2. HD hand Adjustable (CVO)
3. Progressive 940-944-444
4. Terry Cable or Works Performance
5. Ohlins or JRI

a lot depends on your riding style as well, many - many riders will never need or feel the difference in suspension.

I've run Works on all my FXRs back in the day. I went with Works Steel Trackers DRS/ARS. I can't tell you about any others. You will not be disappointed with them.

I just purchased the JRI "B" shocks and I love the adjustability. I am still getting them dialed in but I can say, they are great. A couple of clicks with the bottom dial for 2 up, one uop with luggage, single, all very easy. I too have the monotubes up front and am very pleased with the ride. I found myself riding 5 - 10 mph faster due to the smooth ride on Sunday.

X3 on JRI, lots of adjustment available including changing the springs.

I have Ohlins - took off the OEM shocks at 300 miles. I think Ohlins or JRI would be some of the best out there.
