Fork Oil change

I have read a few threads on it. Someone said using a vac pump they change it that way. I can't for the life of me figure out how to hook it up. Got any pictures? I want to upgrade my fork oil to the heavier stuff. What oil is everyone using?

Thanks

Use fork oil part # 99881-87 performance
rides smoother
1st drain all the fluid out each side and measure the amount
you'll need a threaded adapter for the fork hook to the vacuum. pump to 30lbs, use hemostats to pinch the hose off. remove the hose from pump, insert into container with correct amount of oil, release hemostats. it will suck the fluid up into the fork, quickly unscrew the adapter and insert plug.

I found another write up that says you have to raise and lower the forks, is that true? Just don't want to mess it up.

This was posted in another thread, hope this helps

Great write up BD. I noticed some of you said that changing the fork oil is a pain. Its really easy the way I do it, not saying its the right way but its the way I like to do it. Anyway the first thing is to remove the drain plugs from the bottom of the forks let the oil drain until empty. What I use to fill the forks back up is a Mighty Vac hand vacuum pump with a about a 1/4 inch hose with a shut off valve and hose barb fitting that threads in the fork drain plug. I then pump the Mighty vac up to max vacuum about 26lbs then shut the valve off take my 11oz of oil in a bottle with a tapered spout on it so it can fit in the 1/4 inch hose open the valve and it sucks the oil right in the forks from the bottom no taking the ignition switch out or the fork caps off

so this may be a silly question, but how do you then get the drain plug screw back in without losing any oil?

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.
