Mono tubes

Bought a set of progressive mono tube lowering cartridges ..gonna go to a 21. Should I go 1" or 2". Going to run a 21" soon just not right now. I ride a lot of 2 up...should I go 1 or the full 2 with both springs on dampener .Any c clips on 2". If 1" how many c clips work the best? What weight fork oil. Thanks 2010 road glide with low profile shocks on rear

I'm running them at stock height but there have been threads recently about them with 21s and the general opinion was to go the full 2" lower. To level out the bike.

But it will loose a little in the ride for 2 up if you are at 2" lower. Also be careful and check fender clearance at 2" lower I've read where some have hit the fender on the frame or engine guard when 2" lower and it bottoms.

I just installed a 21in wheel and the lowered monotube kit. I went with a 1in drop and no regrets. A 21in wheel with a 120/70/21 tire will result in a 1 1/4in higher ride height over the stock 18in wheel/tire so the one inch drop brings the ride height back down close to where it was.

I had the same concern about running the lowered monotubes with the stock wheel. Some who have done it say it's not an issue. Me, I just figured it was a good excuse to get new wheels!

I lowered my RG 2" and kept the stock wheels. I've only put 100 miles on it since the change. All 2up miles. So far no problems with clearance.
