Removing fork sliders

I'm looking to have the front fork sliders and cow bells powder coated then install progressives. are there any how to threads on the forum or can anyone recommend a youtube video. been searching havent found anything.

service manual hasnt come in yet and want to take advantage of the weather before the snow makes the garage inaccessible

Try this

Fork Sliders

Cow Bells

You will need 12mm and 19mm allen sockets
12mm for the bolts in the bottom of the forks and 19mm for the fork cap

Expect the fork caps to be TIGHT!!!!!

Look at this. It's a fairly simple job depending on how hard the bottom bolts are to break loose.

I know how to remove the forks and it's guts, but my question is would you guys only stick with H-D parts or would you venture off and use Custom Chrome's kits or any others?

obviously the savings are pretty substantial but that doesn't mean they are less quality than HD all the time, because we all know MoCo likes their honey!!!
