Will these work...?

Tryin' to lower my '07 on a budget, I came across this item to lower me an inch. Can I get away with just lowering the rear or do I have to consider front lowering springs as well?

They will work, alot of people use them with good results.
I don't like them because of the possibility of over stressing the factory mounts and possibly breaking them off the swingarm, but then again I haven't heard of this actually happening either.

Before I went with the Arnott air ride system several years ago, I used the Burley lowering kit in conjunction with the HD 1" lowered shocks with good results. (I still have the lowered shocks, if you want to buy them at a very reasonable price, PM me) It lowered the ass @ 2.5 inches and rode OK. I ended up lowering the front end about a month later because I didn't like the nose up attitude of the bike. Hope this insight helps.

FYI, they will not work with most progressive rear shocks, as the bottom end of the shock is to big. These look like LA Chopper's lowering kit.

Also, pay attention to the space you have between shock mount and muffler before installing these. Is there enough room?

And relief for the shocks in the back of the saddlebags, changing the angle of the shocks sometimes causes interference with the bags.

I had them on my 05 RG for over 30,000 miles without issue and installed them on my 11 RGU the first week I had it. I want to say the ones on the 05 were from Arlen Ness and for the 11 they are LA Choppers. Either way they were very similar and both went on without issue. Also I've nevre lowered the front on either bike and there is no noticable handling issues. Its a poormans lowering kit and they work just fine.

i have a set from pingel that ive used for about 22k miles without issue. they lower the rear 1" and i havent noticed any change in ride quality. as for as using them with afterrmarket shocks i couldnt tell you, i still have my stock shocks. i havent lowered the front yet either. if youre wanting to lower it more than an inch i would recommend other alternatives

I havean adjustable set on mine,I can do 1,2,or3"s. I've got mine set at 2", with stock shocks at 30 psi. Had them on a long time now and really like them, but I never lowered the front. I've got a 21" on the way so I'll probably drop the front then
