2017 RGU Needs to be lowered

Okay, Im only 5'9" on a good day, and have a 32" inseam. My Ultra has the low seat on it already, and I am still not flat footed. I need to go down about an inch still. I have been to the dealer a number of times to get updates on HD's options, and I am getting no good news. I have seen progressives 12" rear shocks, and 1" front drop-in kit. Does anyone have an oppinon on these? and are the progressive rear shocks as easily adjustable as my stock shocks?

Shotgun Shock :: Order Yours Today!

I put together my own air suspension out of Monroe shocks on my 2003 Ultra Classic, thanks to the bagger forum, I've heard the above link is top notch...but have no personal experience with them.

My advice would be to lower the seat, not the scooter. When you lower the scooter you loose lean angle.

They may make drop seat kits for the newer HD's

The seat is already as low as it can go. And narrow to boot. I can rear the controls no problem, its the ground that Im having issues with. But yes, your ABSOLUTLY right about lean angle. I will see what I can do, thank you for your input. its VERY valid, and something I am considering.

What seat are you running?

I have short legs, 28" inseam, but I can reach the ground fine with the oem TRX seat. Even with taller 13 inch rear shocks. I have a Ultra Hammock seat and it's a couple of inches higher. A little harder to put my heals on the ground with that.

Another option is to take the seat to an upolsterer who does motorcycle seats and they can remove foam and bolster the rear of the seat which should help. BTW I'm 5'7 with a 30" inseam and I have no problem reaching the ground with my 15 FLTRXS.

(Yes I had work done on my seat to achieve this, as another aside you dont really want to go more than an inch down front or rear due to the reduced lean angle as another poster noted.)

The ultra is an inch taller in the shocks then the specials are. so i can afford an inch.

I'm 5'4" and inseam challenged
I installed Progressive 994's (12.5 Std) and front drop ins as well as having the stock seat cut down and I try and wear boots with a decent sole/heal. With sag, it probably lowered my bike 1.5" maybe at bit more. All this solved that inseam challenge. Fully flat footed and bent knee, no burning your calf on the primary (you could also change the primary case for the low profile one). I was reluctant to reduce the height because I hit at stock height but I was surprised that didn't happened as expected (like on the ride home from having them installed). No doubt due to increased tire on the ground travel etc BUT the 944's bounce me out of my seat occasionally & I'm not impressed.... gonna try and soften them up because I weigh about 150 lbs and although my bags are always loaded (tools, gear etc) it's not the same as riding fully loaded and/or 2up. Think I have to look at alternative suspension. But it did solve the inseam issue. FYI... if you change your suspension to something lower, you may have to change your kickstand too.
