Fork oil

The Moco say to change fork oil every 50,000 miles. The HD dealer says you should change it every 20,000 miles. What do you think. He claims every place he has worked they changed it at 20,000.

As long as there's no leak , 50 K or five years.

You ever read the manual ? They just don't remove the drain screw , they tell ya to remove the fork. That's easy money for the dealer.
Remove the drain screw and do it your self when its time.

Or you could get monotubes, and never have to worry about fork maintenance again.

I'm going to change mine at 20k & go with a different weight.

My dealer feels that fork oil should be changed bi-weekly regardless of mileage with genuine HD fork oil, and performed only at their shop.

I'm running monotubes myself but changing to a heavier oil was an opportunity to "tune" the forks for my typical riding weight and helped a lot on my softtail and many other bikes...
