help.......!!!!

Ok so I have the other thread "I need a littlle..." , I was just in the garage with my buddy getting ready to mark for inner fairing cuts.... we have the fairing taped... and we are using the grill to figure out where to place my cardboard template..... the only way to get the grills to not hit the upper fork bolt is to move the speaker grills to the rear of the fairing.....the issue is that i dont think the magnet will make the clearance for the glove boxes without hacking them up..... I'm using the RF T165 6.5" coax speaker..... when we removed the upper bolt and washer i could get the grill closer to where the paul yaffee instructions show....help!!!!!

Harbor freight sells a 90 degree chuck that will work with a standard drill chuck. It will allow you full access from the tank/ open side of the inner fairing. Worked perfect for me using HF hole saw. Cut the inner fairing and smaller ( magnet sized ) hole through the inside of the glove box for the conflict.

08' FLTR - Customized!!! (Check my Albums)
05' SuperGlideCustom - sold

My 08' had clearance issue with the stock 5-1/4" speaker magnets. Not sure but from some of the other pics it looks like the inner wall of the glove box on newer bikes ( or maybe the entire glove box) has more space between it and the inner fairing. ???? No way I could make them fit without conflict unless I moved them way forward.

Try to loosen the lower fairing mount on the crash bar and push the out a little and change out the stock bolts for button head allen bolts from the hardware store.
