Audio newbie question

I've been reading through a lot of the audio threads on this forum and a few car audio forums trying to figure out the whole 2ohm vs 4 ohm speaker deal. Reason being, I just want to replace my stock head unit so I can have a few more options. I have the boom audio speakers already both front and back, but I do not have an amp. I will probably buy an amp later but for now just I just want a new head unit. I'm looking at installing the Alpine 149BT, will the 2ohm boom audio's burn out the amp in the head unit if I hook it up without an amp? Will it work as good as the HK head unit for now until I add an amp??

They will work fine the Alpine deck. If you add an amp later I would change speakers as well. Those booms cant handle much more than the stock HK throws at em.

The Alpine will be able to handle the speakers just fine.

Will the sound be a little better than the stock HU? It's loud enough now, would be nice if it was a little clearer though!

Itll be better to an extent but its not going to immensely change with just a head unit swap.
