J & M HRSK-7252GTM Install ?

I have them all installed, the directions say to rotate the terminals so they are facing inward. problem is when I do that either the tweeter wires are too short to read or the stock wires are too short.

I then rotated both speakers so the terminals are facing down and everything fit till I got to the last friggin speaker and the small stock wires is about 2" too short to make the connection on the left side speaker.

I actually did get it to fit on but it was like a friggin guitar string so I took it back off. I do not see where it is coiled or anything and not sure there is anymore to pull? Any idea's.. Never fails get to the end and arrrggghhhhh

Must be a stupid question, I guess I have to splice the wire? I am not an electrical guy in the least. I will go to local electrical store and see if they can guide me. Was really hoping to have this done today but thats not gonna happen. I cannot be the 1st one this has happened too? I will also call J & M tomorrow and let them know of this problem with their set up

I installed them on mine a couple of weeks ago. I have more than enough wire to reach the recommended mounting location. Make sure you are routing the wires through the slot in the speaker grill and down that way. The will be to short if you try to go around the outside of the adapter. The directions show a small slot that the wire will lie flat and get held in place when you install the tweeter grill to the speaker adapter. If mine was still apart i would take a photo for you. Let me know if you need more info or if you do not have a copy of the directions showing what i am trying to explain.

yeah thanks.. I did that, the wire that will not reach is the small white one from the bike not the tweeter. Those wires are running through the groove and if I turn the speaker so the terminals are inward IAW directions those tweeter speakers are too short to reach both terminals

In that case i am not sure. Let us know what J&M says when you talk to them. So anybody else with similar problem has a plan to fix it.

I just rotated the speaker so the terminals are facing inward and all the wires fit except the big one from the tweeter. Seems to me if the terminal post was reversed it would fit no problem but because it's up high like that there is not enough tweeter wire to run through the slot on the bottom and then up to the top post. And if I rotate speaker down than the same thing happens to the small white wire from the bike? AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHH

I put them in my '08 and had no issues with the install per the instructions and had plenty of slack in the oem wiring. ?? Wondering if the wire harness / wrapping may have your needed slack wrapped up in it. No way you should be having these issues with the install - the only variable is in the existing wiring. Let us know how it turns out.

I actually I think the wiring from the tweeter is too short, if I go by the instructions which say to place the speaker so the terminals are facing inward like the last pic than the tweeter wire is about 2" too short? The stock wire is only short if I go against the instructions and have the terminals facing down. I traced the stock wires back but cannot find a place where they are coiled. although they do go into a big ole harness and I am not touching that. Seems to me like the terminals on the speakers were put on backwards or atleast one of them was. Is there supposed to be a left and right speaker? These 2 are exactly the same and it works on the right side when I face the speaker down but not on left no matter what I do. well there goes the 1st weekend of riding out the friggin window... J & M not open today????????

FWIW - if you do cut and splice be sure to cut far enough back from the terminal connector (several inches) that you can still use it. Solder them and remember to use the heat-shrink wrap and electrical tape. If it is a J&M issue I hope they take care of it quickly. Work'n on the bike is suppose to be relaxing and not a pain in the #^#^#.

Will it make any difference if you change the speakers from one side to the other?
