Kenwood HU losing power

03 Road Glide, running 2 led's in the rear and a custom dynamics equalizer/run/turn/brake module, as well as a paul yaffee license plate bracket. It seems that I lose power to the head unit but only when wiggling the power wire to my license plate bracket. I ran the negative for the bracket directly to the battery and wired the power to the Orange White wire that comes via the run/turn module. Turn the bike on and radio will come on, touch that orange white wire and it cuts on and off, This baffles me, any ideas? I thought the HU was powered and grounded by the wiring harness under the fairing. While this is going on I do not lose running lights or the license plate LED's ??? Electrical is obviously not my thing.....
