Problem - HELP! Radio won't turn on.
Over the winter, I installed two Hawg-Wired RS400 amps and matching speakers for the front and rear. Running one amp for front pair, one amp for rear pair. I've had them in for several months - been riding around...no problems. Finally decided to wash the bike over the weekend. I noticed after I washed the bike that the speakers were on even though the radio was not. They just had a faint hiss. This was all 4 speakers ... not just the front or just the rear ... all 4. I turned the bike on, radio played like normal. Started the bike...no problems. Turned it off...still hissing. Weird, right? So I decided I'd just leave it overnight. Maybe it was a moisture issue from washing the bike...but I've never had an issue before these installs. I'm still using the factory HD radio and I added the iPod control and mounted an iPod in the saddlebag.
Tonight...I go out to check the bike out. Not hissing. Good...or so I thought. I turned the ignition on...no radio. Started the bike - the battery was weak, but it started. Still no radio. I checked the radio fuses in the main panel and both appear to be ok. I'll confirm with multimeter shortly. I also checked the iPod and it doesn't appear to be charging. My guess is the radio itself has a fuse somewhere? Maybe that tripped? Suggestions welcome as I try to track this down. I'm doing what I can without pulling the fairing first. Any thoughts out there? Both Hawg-Wired fuses (under the seat) are still good (30A fuses). At a loss on what might be triggering this response from the Big Blue Pearly One.
