USB Extension cable advice

Does anyone run their extension cable to their dash compartment? I'm installing my new HU and system today and I'd like to run the extension from the rear of the HU to my compartment on my Road Glide. Is there an adapter or something that you guys know about or should I just drill a hole and slide the cable through and call it a day?

Just drill the smallest hole for it to fit through or cut the size to fit the cable port.
