Ok, Audio isn't my forte so please bear with my ignorance for a minute. I'm on the second HK radio and while it works fine I'm tired of the "iPod interface portion" not maintaining it's spot when the bike is shut off. It seems like I'm only hearing a small subset of my 1500 song iTunes library over and over, and every time I start the bike the radio resets to the first track alphabetically (a song I never want to hear again I might add). This is the second HK I've had in the bike and I figured it's just time to put a new head unit in it. I'm set on the Kenwood KDC-X998 and the Hawg Wired HUA470 universal install kit. I have a couple of questions before I pull the trigger on the initial audio upgrade (more will come as funds are available).

1- My bike being a CVO has a stock amp and it's my understanding that I can maintain this (for the time being) and it will work with an aftermarket head unit. If that's the case how does this wire in exactly?

2- Will the stock speakers work (for now) with the "car stereo" head unit (8 vs 4 vs 2 ohm)?? What Ohm is what? Does the amp straighten this all out ???

Again I apologize for my ignorance

You've got a CVO bike. There is a reason why us audio die hards dont fool with those. That CVO system is a clusterphuck...if you know what I mean. No offense to you, but that system has 1 ohm speakers....or 2 ohm speakers....amps that put out who knows how many watts...but the system is how many watts??? You get my point. A good place for you to start is the CVO forum thats on the web. Im sure someone there has figured it out on the CVO bikes.
