What is better to add bass down in the bags or in the lids? Help

From what I have heard locally, definitely down in the bag facing the wheel. Dont know why, nobody can figure it out, but it's a noticeable difference down in the bag. After hearing others' bikes, thats where I installed my 6x9. Got two pioneers in each bag.

I too have my 6x9 Focals in the bag facing rear wheel. To me it sounds better. You have sound coming out and up, bouncing off rear wheel. Also better contained in bottom of bag. More confined. Deeper bass.
