BOOM 77028-10 vs Factory

I recently picked up a 13 Road Glide, and while I was impressed with the factory setup to begin with, I am now looking to upgrade. I normally ride with a full face on, and that combined with 80 mph and it just turns ... bad. I came across the BOOM speakers and the price seems right, plus its all plug and play. Are they worth it to upgrade over the stock ones?

thanks!

I have the boom speakers. They're definitely an improvement over stock, but you'll probably wind up replacing them.

I had booms in my Ultra and they are a lot better then stock, they still left a lot to be desired. I don't wear a helmet and anything above 75 was still an issue to hear and that was with 4 speaker system.

My personal opinion is you can make a much better system for less money.

Thanks for the input. The other speakers I was seeing get lots of recommendations were nearly double the price of the booms. Any suggestions for something that performs better at a similar price?

Infinity Kappa 62.11's and a PBR300x2 amp. All can be had for about $300, gets rave reviews.

I have boom fairing speakers, and boom speakers in the lowers. Also added the boom amp. In my opinion system needs an amp to make it so you can hear it going down the highway at 75, regardless of what speakers you use.

For the money, boom system is JUNK!!! The only way I would even consider it is if it were on sale for free 99. Even then, I would take it and sell it all on fleabay and use the funds on something way better for the same amount of money (or damn close to the same). You want factory with harley warranty, go boom. You want real loud and clear at any speed, avoid boom. Whats your budget? We can piece together a system for you that you can easily install for probably less than the boom crap. Hell...someone already posted a great combo (ask me how I know its great).....the PBR300x2 and Kappa speakers for the money cant be beat.
