ipod help

I have a10 RGC. Last year I had 4 RF 6.5s put in the fairing with a PBR 300x2 with the stock head unit. I typically dont run the radio, I use my Android phone off the Aux jack. Getting ready tp pull the inner fairing for paint. I saw a few pics were guy wired a ipod interface into the glove box. Looks like a killer mod. So my questions

Can I run a system from the back of the stock head unit to operate an Ipod so i dont have to mess with the jack?

Is there something that I could control the Ipod from the bars with out running wires to the hand controls. I have internally wired Bukys and don't want to feed more wires through them.

What I am looking for is a set up that I can plug an Ipod into my glove box, ride. End of the day take the Ipod out and charge. Something I can control from the bars would be better.

I am pretty clueless about this stuff. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Short answer . . . yes

Long answer, Harley makes an IPOD interface and On the Move Technology makes one that is sold by Iron Cross Audio. I have the 2nd option because it's cheaper. The whole thing plugs into the back of the radio, you run the wire wherever you want it. I ran mine to my right fairing compartment. It also charges the Ipod

Awesome, does the jack plug into the speaker/head phone out put or does it plug into the charging port? I think a shiuffle 2G would be plenty for now. Still will use my phone occasionally for work chit.

The Harley iPod adapter while it may be convenient is a poor signal source into the HK radio ,,,,, you are better off going wire direct into the panel jack on the front of the 2006-2013 Harley HK radio ,,,,,, from your cell phone or iPod music player ,,,,,,

I haven't had any issues with my iPod interface, got mine hooked up to glovebox like the 2015. charges my iPhone/iPod & is controlled by handlebars. a little costly but there's dealers you can get 20% off.

agree with John. The signal source for whatever reason on both the iPod interface as well as the XM interface from HD have lower output signal voltage than one would expect. This results in varying volume levels going from one source to the next such as CD/FM to iPod/XM.

the ipod interface will not work with the shuffle. it has to have the 30 pin apple connector (or use an adapter to go to the lighning)

you can use your phone (assuming it's an iphone) as an ipod though, and it will keep it charged as well.

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.
