PAC-SWI-RC Issues

I have recently installed a PAC-SWI-RC unit with a Sony M70BT Marine head unit. I was able to get everything installed and program the PAC unit, but am having issues with it working while riding. I programmed the unit while my bike was idling and my hand controls appear to work correctly. The issue is when i ride, the hand controls work intermittently, particularly the volume up/down. I have to hold the volume up/down handlebar control for quite sometime before it works. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. If i stop, turn the bike off and on all appears good, until i start riding. Anyone have any advice here? I also used the scosche install kit with the pre-made harness. I did cut the pink/white wire and ground it which allowed me to get the PAC unit into program mode. This is getting pretty frustrating as i have had to take the fairing off multiple times to reprogram the PAC unit thinking all is good only to find out after putting it all back together it doesn't work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wondering if I should of just spent the extra bucks and used the Biketronics unit.

I had the same issue and I ditched it and went with axxess steering wheel controler instead.. No lag and no issues at all.

This is not what I wanted to hear. I have the same unit. Same setup to be exact.

Just throwing it out there but what did you ground the pink/white wire to? It might be losing ground connection.

I have the same unit Plugged into an Alpine HU. I never have problems. I would suggest checking your grounds and also where it plugs into the HU. Make sure all connections are free of paint and secure.

If I have to explain ,you wouldn't under stand anyway.

I'm currently having the same issue. I am going to try changing the ground location this week. Currently it is grounded to the bolt on the inner fairing support. I am going to try piggy backing it onto my amp ground.

Currently i have it grounded to the cigarette lighter ground. I was wondering if maybe it had something to do with the voltage variables when the bike is running compared to idling. Since it allowed me to program it, I didn't think there would be a ground issue. Also, when i first programmed the unit, i did while the bike was in acc mode, which resulted in the controls not working once the bike was running. I could move it to my amp ground which is directly to the battery.

I grounded the PAC under one of the 4 inner fairing mounting nuts. Also use a star washer or remove any paint.
I also programed the PAC with the bike in the acc position, works fine running.

UPDATE: I just wanted to post an update so as to help others if they run into this same type of issue in the future. I was able to resolve the issue by making a couple of changes. I did both changes at the same time, so i really don't know which one or if both resolved the issue. First I changed the ground of the PAC units pink/white wire directly to my battery; sharing the ground of my RF PBR 300 x2 amp which was already mounted in the fairing. Secondly, I re-programmed the PAC unit with the bike at approximately 3000 RPM hoping to remove any voltage variations from charging-draining. With both of these changes the PAC unit works perfect. Hope this info is helpful. Thank you to everyone whom posted their suggestions.

I have the exact same setup and my radio is locked up , can't change volume stations or anything with handle bar switches or the manual radio knobs either. Only way i can make anything change is with my iPhone plugged directly into the unit then the phone app will change things. And it worked ok for over a year, now suddenly just took a shit!
