better bang for more buck.

I've been reading a lot into it. I know the kappas and pbr300 is the best bang for the buck, but what's the next better bang for the next better buck? I'm not looking to spend $1300 on a BT system. More like $500-$600. Two speakers only. 2015 RGS.

The pbr amps are not very good. Buy a pair of hertz hcx165 and a jl xd 400/4 . That amp will give you 75x4 rms. For now you will have 1 open channel. Leaves you room for growth and gives you good consistent power.

..it's mostly speakers.. is not a bad statement.

higher SPL and max watt ratings make a difference

especially if placing them in a newer road glide

the fuzz or gnash usually heard from the speakers is the actual speakers themselves giving up, not a lack of power

I always rate speakers 120% v rating because speaker manufacturer claims have been over exaggerated for so long..

I think the PBR300x2 is fine for the task at hand..

and then for the '15, what fits, the alpine might be better insurance..

I agree the PBR Does Great for what it's designed for. It's when it pushed beyond its design intention that the problems start. Plus it's affordable.

the PBR is fine with me, since it has so many happy customers. im concerned with what speakers to get, for whether they'll fit under the stock grills.

Do yourself a favor and splurge on the amp.. Like this one

Then down the line you can always upgrade the speakers. Power would be my main concern for now. Speakers are the easy part.
