Thanks for all the replies so far. Much appreciated.
I have a single DIN Kenwood deck in a v-twin audio mount and it works fine. Most media receivers are the same size so fitment won't be an issue. Be sure to get the rain shield for it as it's hands down the best one available, although I've found that seeing through it is a bit difficult.
It depends on the brand, I'm finding. Many of the Pioneer media receivers are short - only about an inch longer than the metal sleeve that radios come with. Other brands are still full size.
Everything should be fine as long as it's a single DIN unit. Also give the guys at vtwin audio a call. They are great people and fantastic to deal with. They will verify the fit of the radio you choose. I bought their kit with splash shield but havent installed it yet as the guy painting my inner fairing is dragging his feet
I talked to Allen yesterday and got everything ordered. I've been thinking about this kit for a while, and now that I've got my front end apart again, it's time to make the switch. The HW kit is nice, but there's no splash cover that I can use, without modifying the mount. V-Twin took care of me on the price of their kit, so it's all good now! I can't wait to see this kit in person.
Only a problem in the daylight as the tint is rather dark. This kit is far nicer than any of the others out there. Compare it to BT, Schosche, etc and your will always look far nicer. I only use the rain cover when it is raining.
I've heard that as well. I think I'll be the same way you are and only run the rain cover when it's raining.
I took a look at my HW wiring adapter. At one point I was using the universal adapter as I had an Alpine first. For whatever reason, I switched over to the Sony specific adapter. I need to see if I still have the first one, and if not, I'm either gonna have to stick with what I have now or use another Sony HU. Unless I decide to by the adapter for a third time...
