Not true. If you want to add an amp you need to flash or buy the magic box.

Sorry I forget who makes the magic box.

My Dealer did the flash n/c for the Short Bus for the 4 speaker Fade function to work

You do not need to flash if you go with the J&M amp.

Per John @ J&M and per my ear ... no reason to flash. I have the 180W performance rokker amp. Loud and crystal clear at 80 mph.

Speedie,,,,,,

you are correct ,,,, all J&M amp kits are tuned for the STOCK HARLEY RADIO ,,,,, NO FLASH NEEDED ,,,,,,,,,,, ((see http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=49 and http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=50 ,,,,,

for those who want to go a step farther in performance ,,,,, and don't mind the extra complications ,,,,, then step up to the ROKKER XX EXTREME kits ,, see http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=55 ,,,,

very sorry for all of this confusion ,,,,,,,

I was answering based on the sticky message by JMJohn that allowed, "For those of you adding a J&M ROKKER XTP/XXRP, Performance Series or other Non-Harley brand AMPLIFIERs to your 2014-2015 Harley Infotainment radio, the proper Harley radio flash is critical to top level audio system performance, combining low distortion with a high volume level potential from whatever speaker/amplifier combination you are using ,,,"

My bad. I guess the correct answer was "it depends".
