Speakers cut out

Speakers just cut out randomly. If I flip the speaker switch, the speakers come back on. Doesn't happen due to a bump or anything. Just seems random. Any thoughts?

I just had the exact same issue. Mine was a loose connection. I thought the amp was bad but cleaning and re securing the connections fixed it.

Didn't find any loose connections. Asked dealer service guy he said it was the switch. Have one on order for $85 bucks! Does the ignition switch position plate just pop off by prying underneath it? Dont want to have to buy another one of them too....

Changed the speaker switch, still the same issue. Could the Amp be overheating causing the speakers to cut out? Really at a loss as to what to do next......

Does it only do it after bikes run for awhile?

The time it takes can vary. After I installed the new switch, i rode about 3 miles before the speakers cut out. Last night i went about 1/4 mile and they shut off. One odd thing I discovered is the speakers dont cut out when parked with ignition on Acc.

What is your set up? What amp, speakers ect? What gauge is your power and ground wire. Where did you ground your amp to? Each of these could be the issue. I was getting some Fuzz/static in my right speaker after having put close to 500 miles on the bike after installing the RF 300x2 amp and Kappa infinity's in the front fairing. Initially I use butt joints instead of soldering every connection but when I took the fairing off to chase the interference, I corrected that. Soldered every connection and was getting ready to put the fairing back on when I decided to check the power connector at the amp. Found the power cable was barely held in the connector. Took both the power and ground wires ( both 8 gauge)out of the connector, tinned them with a little solder then re installed them in the connector and buttoned every thing back up. Tested the tunes with the outer fairing off and tapped, rattled, and shook every wire and connection to verify no interference. Works like it should. How High is the gain turned up on your amp? voltage? Try everything before putting the outer fairing back on!

Life is too short to put up with stupidity. Strive every day to educate someone, including yourself!
