Hidden antenna J&M or Harley

Looking for people who have had any experience with either one. I saw the J&M doesn't require power but the harley one does and it's about 20 dollars more than the J&M,

I have a J&M one. It needs power. I couldn't get it to work. Might be the HID's and amp. It's sitting on the shelf.

That's crazy cause the one on the Web site says it doesn't need power may be it's a newer version

I took off the long antenna, unscrewed it off the base, and bought a rubber 12" long antenna at Auto-zone and screwed it on. I then bent it under the 4 point hook up for the backrest and tour pak and used a little zip tie to keep it in place. It is hidden by the bag and you don't even realize it is there. The reception is good. A part of me wants to remove it like the video on Youtube and put it under the seat. Just been too lazy right now.

Just take the stock antenna and route it along side the fender and under the seat. I had to pull one bolt out of the antenna bracket and rotate the bracket but it works just fine.
There is a video on this mod but I can't seem to find it.

I couldn't get any reception when I did the antenna tuck thing. Ended up with an $8 short rubber antenna from the auto parts store. Works fine and bends easily under the tour Pak.

I had the HD version and it worked well. It seems to be kind of hit or miss, I've heard of a lot more guys that think they're crap then those that have a good experience.
