Alpine 149 bt radioswap gasket?

Getting ready to swap stock HK to Alpine 149bt. Do you have to transfer the rubber gasket/seal to the new deck? Also, any tips for additional waterproofing?

I have the same radio. Did not use the old gasket. What install kit are you using? I went with the V-Twin install kit with splash shield, easy install.

Same here. Even if you use another install kit, get the splash guard.

TY for responses, I have the v twin waterproof cover and the hawg wired install kit.

Does your kit come with plastic sheeting to put on the top of the radio? Saw a youtube video where somebody did that?

This is what I did. I also didn't use no sheet over the radio, thought it would keep heat from escaping.
