4 ohm??

Can I run 4 ohm speakers as replacements? What are the drawbacks if any. Not an audio wiz, excuse my ignorance

Your 15RGS has a 2 ohm speakers. Just adding 4ohm speakers will cut your volume in half since they are double the resistance. What is your ultimate goal and how deep are you pockets? You can get a pretty decent upgrade on a fairly small budget to include speakers and an amp to drive them.

A GOOD budget speaker is the Infinity Kappa 62.11i's. They are 2 ohm and can handle a decent amp and won't break the bank.

Well, thought of going with the Hogtunes setup, but been hearing alot of bad stuff about them. And how bass is really lacking. So I was looking into Kicker or Infinity. But alot of the Kicker stuff is 4ohm. I don't wanna spend a ton. Think I've decided to just put a quality 4 channel amp, upper and lower fairing speakers instead of the additional speaker lids. Since I just ordered some lowers

I am not going to tell you where to go, but there are VERY DECENT setups out there for $500... plug and play.. speaking of 2 speakers and an amp. If you are sold on piecing together your own system, it can get nerve-racking...I said CAN. You have to deal with connections and wiring... etc....

there are good threads out there with lots of info on audio upgrades.. from budget builds to high-end. I would do some research on systems that will fit your budget... don't 'settle' if you can help it.

There are a lot of options if you want to piece together a system or purchase a pre-packaged system...if it were me I would look at the others before considering Hogtunes.

As other have said...using 4 ohm speakers will cut the power in half.

Sent an email to Soundz to see what his cost would be. But thinking it's gonna be pricey. Basically I want the best "bass for the buck", and of course increased volume

Rock, head over to hdforums & read up on the audio system section over there to find options for a budget system. The guys there will steer you right & you'll be able to put together something that is so much better than stock

That's what I've been hearing and am doing. Their system seems easy to installed and priced ok. But heard some issues that have me searching for a better solution

Been poking around there too. Been hearing great things from Soundz Customz. So gave them a shout. I want a plug and play system that is complete, since I'm not looking to have a "custom" system and want it easy for me to do myself.
