Question Anyone heard sidecar cycles/HW Lucky 13 saddlebag lids?

I've been trying to decide what saddlebag lid solution to go with for over a year. Originally, I was going with the Cyclesounds 6x9 lids. I've seen them and heard a few systems that used them.

I've heard the CVO bag lids on stock CVO road and street glides. I've also read posts about making aftermarket 6x8 speakers fit. I have a feel for that solution.

I've been waiting for someone to post or provide feedback on the sidecar cycle saddlebag lid solution. I was intrigued since they advertise that they can modify your existing lids. Hawg-Wired sells the lucky 13 lids which looks like the same thing, but fitted with their 6.5"zx speakers. I figure if Hawg-Wire sells it, it has to be worth considering. But I would like to hear someone's actual experience with them. How does the water drainage system work? How does the speaker mounting effect the sound? How is the sound for the passenger?

If anyone has heard the sidecar cycles or lucky 13's, I would appreciate any reviews you may have. I'm biting the bullet and getting extended bags and rear fender. If I'm going to do speaker lids I might as well get them now so they can be painted at one time.

I've been talking to the fine folks at Hawg Wired and they have a set of 5x7's coming out to fit the Harley saddlebag lids. They are saying they should be in stock the last week of Jan. So, I'm waiting on those! I'm redoing my stereo and going HW all the way

I got info today from HW on the 5x7's they are comming out with. They are 4ohm and rated for 70watts RMS. if I go the CVO route, then I will consider the HW's.

The Lucky 13s will come with ZX 6.5's which are rated at 100watts. I'm thinking that the Lucky 13s/sidecar cycles will hit harder.

You're probably right, I just like the look of the Harley lids. Kinda tossing it out as an option. I haven't heard the Lucky 13 lids, so I'm at a disadvantage

Sidecar and HW Lucky 13 look to be nearly identical except for the price. I have been considering the sidecar ones myself, as they use your lids which means no painting and you have the option of whcih speaker you like. Price point is significantly different though.

I definitely like the idea of using my existing lids as sidecar cycles advertises. They have a few YouTube videos that sound ok, but they are inside a garage or shop. I would like to hear more reviews from customers....

im pretty sure sidecar cycles makes the speaker lids for hawg wired, so they are the same thing. not to long ago i fb messaged hawg wired and asked if they will modify your existing lids. they said they do offer that service.
